The International English Club is a small online book club run by Patrick from California, United States. This page explains in plain language what we collect, why, and how to get it removed. If anything here is unclear, email hello@internationalenglishclub.com and we'll answer.
When you fill in the form on the home page we receive your first and last name, email address, the country you're based in, the session you'd prefer, and anything you choose to write in the optional message box.
We use it for one thing: to run the book club. That means replying to you, sending a payment link, sending the reading schedule and session materials, and emailing you the Google Meet details. We tell you about future programmes only if you stay subscribed; every email has an unsubscribe link.
We do not sell your details, and we do not share them with anyone except the service providers listed below.
After you submit the form we email you a confirmation link. Until you click it, your details are not added to our list. This double opt-in protects you from being signed up by someone else.
Because the club is run from the United States, your details are transferred there. If you are in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, you are giving your consent to that transfer when you register.
This site sets no cookies at all unless you press "Accept analytics" on the banner. If you do, Google Analytics 4 loads and sets its own cookies to count visits, which pages are read, and roughly which country visitors come from. IP addresses are anonymised, and advertising and personalisation features are switched off.
If you decline, nothing is loaded and nothing is sent to Google. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage — not in a cookie — and you can change it any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a decline and never show you the banner.
Registration details stay on the mailing list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. If you register but never confirm your email address, the unconfirmed entry is removed after 30 days. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Email hello@internationalenglishclub.com and we'll act on it within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK and you're not happy with how we've handled a request, you can complain to your national data protection authority.
This programme is for adults. We don't knowingly collect details from anyone under 16.
If we change how any of this works, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
